Are you interested in giving your child a unique educational experience?
Do small classes, individualized attention, and monthly field trips appeal to you and your child? Well, Mountain View Learning Academy is the answer you have been looking for. Mountain View is a K-8 program which blends the traditional classroom experience with the flexibility of independent study. Parents meet with state-certified teachers on a regular basis in order to receive assignments that are to be completed within the home setting. Unlike many "home-school" programs, Mountain View offers on site classes Tuesday through Friday. The classes focus on math, writing, visual & performing arts, physical education, and science standards. Monthly educational field trips are also an important part of the Mountain View program. This program is free and is dedicated to meeting the needs of all types of learners. Diana Whyte, Jennifer Broderick, and Sue Wingo comprise the Mountain View teaching staff. All three teachers are University of California graduates and all have their master's in instruction and curriculum. Combined these teachers have 58 years of teaching experience and hold a wide range of credentials. Mountain View Learning Academy, one of seven schools within the Alpine Union School District, is located at 8770 Harbison Canyon Road on the campus of Shadow Hills School.
